By enquiry The Mela Kothi went up in the late 1860s as the office for a zamindar family's twice-yearly cattle fair; the same family restored it from 1999 as a safari lodge in 33 acres of planted forest. Fourteen rooms and cottages sit among the trees. Boats go out on the National Chambal Sanctuary for gharials and Gangetic dolphins, and the Taj Mahal is about an hour's drive.
Not just the room: drivers, trains, guides, the lot. Tell us the shape of the trip and Rahul from Indiaesque builds it to your budget with our own people on the ground. No call centres, no mark-up mystery.
