Brij Villa

There is a particular kind of hill station that the British built to remember somewhere else, and Dalhousie is one of them: gabled roofs, pine-shadowed lanes, the hush of an old cantonment. Khajjiar, the so-called "Mini Switzerland of India," is a short drive away, all meadow and lake ringed by forest. The Kalatop Wildlife Reserve, the Panchpula waterfall and the bustle of Gandhi Chowk fill out an easy, varied itinerary.

Cedar, and dining under the stars

Meals revolve around Cedar, the villa's multi-cuisine restaurant, which trades on "exquisite cuisine and breathtaking mountain views" and the option to eat wherever suits — the garden terrace, or the quiet of your room.
