ITC's small-scale Storii brand in Bahang, upper Manali, at 2,000 metres with the Pir Panjal and Dhauladhar ranges around it. Twenty-two rooms and suites share two acres with a mini apple orchard and glacial brooks, which gather into a natural pool. The buildings borrow Himalayan blue pine and local kathkhuni construction, and the whole place is pet-friendly — dogs get a proper welcome.
