Arrive Delhi
You are met at the international airport and driven to your hotel. The rest of the day is yours, which after that flight is the point of it.
A day to land and do nothing, then a full day with a guide: Old Delhi by cycle rickshaw through Chandni Chowk, and the Qutub Minar and Humayun's Tomb in the new city.

Delhi, old and new
After breakfast, Old Delhi: Raj Ghat, the Red Fort, and Chandni Chowk by cycle rickshaw. Then New Delhi — the Qutub Minar, India Gate, Humayun's Tomb, the Lotus Temple, and Rashtrapati Bhavan from the road. If there is time, a ride on the metro.
Delhi to Agra
The Yamuna Expressway to Agra after breakfast. Agra Fort in the afternoon, then the Taj Mahal, and back to the hotel by evening.

An art-filled Agra homestay a short walk from the Taj Mahal's east gate — rooms themed on contemporary Indian artists, a leafy garden loud with birdsong, and hosts who know Agra inside out.
Agra to Jaipur
239 km, about five hours. Check in, then out to Amer Fort in the evening for the light and sound show.

A former haveli in the heart of the Pink City turned 15-room boutique hotel — a rooftop restaurant looking out to Nahargarh Fort, an Ayurvedic spa, and Jaipur's landmarks a short drive away.
Jaipur
Past the Hawa Mahal in the morning. In the afternoon the City Palace and its museum, and Jantar Mantar, the observatory next door.
Jaipur to Pushkar
145 km, about two and a half hours. Check in, then the Brahma temple; a camel ride if the timing allows.
One night by the lake: the Brahma temple six minutes away, and a camel ride if the timing works.
Tonight you sleep at Kothi Pushkar.
The rooms take a family, all air-conditioned, each with its own bathroom, a desk and a wardrobe; some look into the garden and some over the town. There is a pool with a view over it, a spa, a sun terrace and an outdoor fireplace, and the wifi is free. Breakfast is a proper spread: continental, Italian, vegetarian or Asian, with juice, pancakes, cheese and fruit, and local dishes every day.
Pushkar to Udaipur
394 km, about six hours. The evening is free — the lanes behind the hotel run down to the washing ghats on Lake Pichola, and there are good restaurants in town if you want dinner out.
The City Palace, Jagdish Temple and Saheliyon ki Bari, and two hours on Lake Pichola late in the afternoon.
Tonight you sleep at Vasant Vilas.
Three kinds of room: a superior deluxe with a jarokha window over the city, a king room with a balcony over the garden, and a junior suite with its own terrace and a view across Udaipur. All air-conditioned, with a fan, an electric kettle, a flat-screen television, a wardrobe and a mini bar. There is a multi-cuisine restaurant downstairs.
Udaipur
The City Palace and Museum, the largest palace complex in Rajasthan; the Pratap Memorial with its bronze of Maharana Pratap; Jagdish Temple, built in 1651; and Saheliyon ki Bari. Late afternoon, two hours on Lake Pichola past the ghats, with the Lake Palace and City Palace from the water.
Udaipur to Goa
An early breakfast, then the drive to Udaipur airport for the flight to Goa, which is in the price. Met at the other end and driven to your hotel.
Four nights with nothing booked in them, a few minutes back from Calangute beach.
Tonight you sleep at Casa de Goa.
Arches, laterite and sunlit courtyards a short way back from Calangute beach, with the markets and cafes of North Goa around it. Rooms run from deluxe doubles through suites and family suites to villas, and there is a spa and a restaurant on site.
