Lucknow like a local
The whole house for your gang: two heritage rooms, a garden, and the old city on your doorstep
From ₹23,999£210€240$305 per person · 2 nights · taxes in
Bring the family, or three friends: at Maqbara 27 you don't take rooms, you take the house. Two bedrooms, a living room lined with books on Lucknow, a dining room under vaulted arches, and a garden overlooking the Sibtainabad Imambara. Hazratganj is a short walk, the old city a short ride. For a weekend, you live here rather than visit.
The eating is the point. Breakfast is cooked to order in your own house. Lunch, one day, is a home-cooked meal in a heritage home. Dinner is a buffet at Naimat Khana, where the recipes come from the kitchens of old Lucknow families. In between: the Nawabs' monuments on a guided walk, and chikankari with a needle in your own hand.

Parikhana is all Awadhi motifs and handcrafted woodwork; Firangi Mahal is colonial in mood, with vintage European furniture and high ceilings. Both bedrooms are air-conditioned and share one bathroom; a house manager lives on site, parking and wifi are free, and a small kitchen is available on request.
And the parts you'd rather not think about

Good to know
The two bedrooms share one bathroom — the honest trade of staying in a real house, and part of why it suits a family or close friends rather than strangers. Walk and workshop dates follow the guides' calendar, so earlier is easier. The house sleeps four; a party of two or three prices differently — the room options above show how.
