Premkunj sits in the hills at Badi, about twenty minutes from Udaipur's sights, which buys quiet without cutting you off from the city. The lake is a ten-minute walk.
It backs onto the Sajjangarh Wildlife Park, so birds and deer are routine and, rarely, a leopard crosses the hills behind the pool. The day starts with the trek up the Premkunj Trail and chai at the top.

A colonial building with unusually large rooms, looking into the hills that wrap around the property, so the view is constant rather than something you go and find. There is a pool, horse riding on the property, and cycling.

Good to know
Udaipur airport is the nearest. Badi Lake is a kilometre away and the Bahubali Hill trek is four. Leopard sightings happen but are rare and nobody should book expecting one.
