"A Jodhpur haveli granted with the fiefdom of Pal in 1843, a private family home until 2000, with a rooftop cafe facing the fort"
Haveli Inn Pal was built at the expense of the Jodhpur state in return for the services of Thakur Umaid Karan Singh Ji, who had migrated from Gujarat accompanying the future Maharaja Takhat Singh Ji from Ahmadnagar. Takhat Singh Ji was adopted and crowned after the death of Maharaja Man Singh Ji in 1843, and the fiefdom of Pal was granted in the same year.
The house stayed a private residence of the Pal family until the year 2000. After several years of sympathetic renovation and alteration it opened to travellers, so the building has only been a hotel for a fraction of its life.
The rooftop is the draw. Panorama 360 Cafe looks out over the fort, and there is the Sheesh Mahal alongside it, with rooms and suites below.
