Chandra Mahal Haveli

Chandra Mahal Haveli stands in Pahersar, a village on the Jaipur to Agra road about 23 kilometres from Bharatpur. The building's original architecture dates to 1840, and the property is now run as a heritage hotel by Amritara Hotels and Resorts, which set the swimming pool inside the older fabric.

There are 14 rooms. Ten Heritage Rooms of about 330 square feet sit on the ground floor and take twin, king or single beds; four Royal Suites of about 750 square feet occupy the first floor, each with its own living space, an open terrace and a heritage jacuzzi. Rooms look onto the courtyard, the pool or the village. The restaurant, Peharsi Andaz, overlooks the poolside and seats 30 including a private dining room, cooking Persian, Rajasthani and Indian dishes from the estate family's own recipe journals with produce from the village fields. Meals are also laid across the gardens and terraces. Village walks, tractor and camel cart rides, bonfires and henna are arranged on the property, and Keoladeo National Park is a day trip away.
