"Run by the seventeenth and eighteenth generations of Raja Raisal, who made Khandela the capital of Shekhawati in 1538"
Khandela is an ancient town, more than two thousand years old, ruled over the centuries by various Rajput dynasties. Raja Raisal of the Shekhawat clan established his rule over the Shekhawati region from 1538 to 1615, with Khandela as its capital, and his descendants ruled the state until Indian independence.
That line has not been broken. The present owners of Khandela Haveli are the seventeenth and eighteenth generations of Raja Raisal, so the family running the hotel is the family from the history.
The haveli itself is a heritage boutique hotel in Jaipur, with rooms and facilities alongside an events and wedding side. It also runs a full set of Jaipur touring, from local and day tours through sightseeing to intercity travel, which makes it a practical base as well as a place to sleep.
