Why we love it

"Ninety-nine rooms in an ivory palace built by the Alsisar family in the language of Rajasthan's noble estates, with three pools and a stepwell called Hathi Kund, at the edge of Ranthambhore National Park"

Nahargarh was conceived and built by the present generation of the Alsisar family, whose hotel group comes out of Kachhawa nobility and also holds the 17th century Alsisar Mahal in Shekhawati. It is a modern palace rather than a restored one, drawn from the architectural language of Rajasthan's noble estates, and it stands in ivory white fortification at Khilchipur village, Sawai Madhopur, on the edge of Ranthambhore National Park.

There are 99 deluxe and super deluxe rooms. The imperial rooms on the first floor have their own courtyards, and the suites on the second floor open onto private terraces facing the national park.

The Grand Dining Hall sits in the central courtyard with fine mirror work across its walls and ceilings, serving Continental, Indian and Rajasthani food. Sunehri Mahal, its arches traced in gold, seats sixty. Lancer's Bar is worked on a military theme, with horse-saddle stools at the counter. Three swimming pools include the marble stepwell Hathi Kund, which is also used for dinners by lamplight, and the amphitheatre opened in 2017. Tattva Spa runs two treatment rooms and a private jacuzzi.
